Derek Stulsky, of Freeport, was arrested on Wednesday, June 3, by Nassau County Police during an investigation of a fatal heroin overdose of a Freeport resident on Tuesday, June 2.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, during the course of the investigation of the overdose, it was discovered that Stulsky was the possible dealer who sold a controlled substance to the victim.
Undercover detectives contacted Stulsky and an agreement was arranged for undercover detectives to purchase a quantity of heroin at an undisclosed location in Freeport, police said.
He was arrested by the undercover officer after accepting payment for the drugs, police.
Following his arrest, officers found that Stulsky was not in possession of any controlled substances at the time of his arrest.
He was charged with attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Stulsky is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, June 4, in Mineola.
